Rejecting the Big Shot - Chapter 8.2
The next morning, Gu Sheng woke up early with great difficulty and made his way down to the lobby while yawning.
This hotel was famous for its breakfast, a traditional cantonese dim sum, which had attracted quite a number of customers who came specially for it.
When he walked into the ground floor restaurant, he saw Yi Zhongshen seated at a table near the window.
The young customers seated near him were sneaking glances at him while eating their breakfast.
Gu Sheng was used to this happening and seated himself nonchalantly opposite Yi Zhongshen. Unable to keep his yawn in, he covered his mouth and yawned widely.
He only felt slightly more awake after he had vigorously rubbed his eyes. He gave a weak greeting. “Morning.”
But the person opposite didn’t appreciate his rare appearance in the morning. He continued looking at the menu, not batting an eyelid at Gu Sheng’s greeting.
“Get up, that’s Junior’s seat.”
“Ah…Junior?”
Gu Sheng was still so sleepy he felt delirious and unable to comprehend.
“Xiyun shouldn’t be up so early, let the kid sleep in…”
Yi Zhongshen took a sip of tea and said calmly, “He has already finished a 3km run.”
This news finally woke Gu Sheng up, “What…how many km?!”
“When I left the room in the morning, I saw him intending to go out for a morning jog.” Yi Zhongshen said.
It was cold and foggy in the morning and Yi Zhongshen stopped Bo Xiyun from going outside. He brought him to the hotel gym instead.
The little kid’s body was not too good and needed some strengthening. He could see that Bo Xiyun only started exercising recently and there wasn’t much foundation to fall back on.
But he had determination and will power. Even when he was panting heavily, he still insisted on finishing three kilometres.
He only stopped when Yi Zhongshen reminded him not to rush his training.
He knew his limits.
Oh, right.
Yi Zhongshen silently counted the youngster’s traits, took another sip of tea and his Adam’s apple moved.
And his ears turn red easily.
Not only the tips of his ears, Bo Xiyun’s collar bones and finger tips would also turn red. Maybe his skin was so delicate that even without friction, the blush that would appear during exercise became very obvious.
Silently becoming rosy.
Gu Sheng was still shocked and dazed, “Oh my god, jogging in the holidays. Is he still a high school student?”
He only shifted his seat for another after being pointedly stared at by Yi Zhongshen but he was still stunned by what he had just heard.
He tapped his wristwatch and asked incredulously, “Morning run has already ended and it’s only 7am now, boss! What time did the two of you get up?”
Gu Sheng knew that Yi Zhongshen had always been self-disciplined. His normal routine was so strict it bordered on abnormality. But he didn’t expect Bo Xiyun, who looked like a weak little kid, to also have this determination.
He thought about last night’s revision.
Bo Xiyun was so self-disciplined that he didn’t seem like a high school student.
“So that’s why Xiyun only had some porridge last night and didn’t eat more.”
The more Gu Sheng said, the more he understood the reason.
“Does he feel that eating too late is bad for health?”
“Late night snacks are unhealthy.” Yi Zhongshen coldly gave his judgment. “Don’t corrupt him.”
Gu Sheng: ??
He wanted to say something but discovered that in front of the pair, he didn’t have much confidence.
… He had stayed up late last night.
Gu Sheng’s words were caught in his throat and just at this time, Bo Xiyun arrived.
The youngster had changed out of school uniform and worn his own casual clothes. A milk white and light blue fleece jacket over his attire made him look even younger. Perhaps due to the run earlier, he didn’t look as pale and sickly as before and his pale lips had some color.
The boy had just showered, his soft hair ends still looking a little damp.
Yi Zhongshen looked at him surreptitiously and finished the last sip of his tea.
Bo Xiyun saw Gu Sheng and was surprised, “Senior Gu you are here? I thought you would come later…let me ask the waiter to bring breakfast over.”
He turned once he had finished speaking and Gu Sheng discovered that Bo Xiyun didn’t come from the direction of the hotel room earlier but from the restaurant’s front desk.
“Eh, Xiyun wasn’t here earlier because he was helping me reserve breakfast?” Gu Sheng was stunned.
Yi Zhongshen, “Yes.”
As the restaurant’s breakfast set was very famous and there were many customers, their breakfast hours were limited only to 9am.
If the hotel guests were late, they would need to book in advance and the hotel would deliver the breakfast set to their rooms when they woke.
Gu Sheng rubbed his nose.
His usual habit was to stay up late and today, he was afraid his brother would check on him. That’s why he was up early today.
Bo Xiyun quickly returned and Gu Sheng thanked him. “Xiyun is just so considerate.”
Bo Xiyun shook his head as he felt he didn’t do anything much.
But Gu Sheng continued, “I have also met someone else who’s sleeping habits are similar to yours. He was staying in the dorm room next door and he would sleep at 11pm and wake up at 6am. When school just started and we were introducing ourselves, he said he is very self-disciplined and we all admired him for that.”
“In the end, he insisted on complete silence in the dorm room after 11pm and when he woke up at 6am, he was so noisy he woke all his roommates. His roommates were going mad over his antics.”
In comparison, Bo Xiyun may have a fixed routine, but he didn’t show any superiority and would never force others to work with his routine.
Instead, he would try his best to be considerate of others.
Not only during this breakfast. Including the supper last night; although he didn’t have the habit of eating so late, he still went with them as he didn’t want to disappoint them.
That’s why Gu Sheng wanted to praise him.
“Ah,” Bo Xiyun understood what Gu Sheng was trying to say and was a little embarrassed, “Actually I have bad points too.”
“?” Gu Sheng asked, “What bad points?”
Yi Zhongshen also looked over.
They heard the youngster speak.
“If there was a change in plans at the last minute, I will do my best to adjust and I will be fine.”
Bo Xiyun’s routine was not deliberate or established for a goal.
It was just that he liked to feel in control.
“But if there’s continuous changes or accidents that are out of the plans, I will constantly think about ending the task as quickly as possible.”
Bo Xiyun’s original intention was to show that he was more selfish, that he was more used to keeping his life in his own control.
But when Gu Sheng heard his words, he thought of something else.
“Eh, does this mean you don’t want to fall in love?”
Afterall, emotion was one of the hardest things to control.
“Let’s say you want to stay home and read but your other half suddenly asks to go shopping. This should be a frequent occurrence between couples?”
Bo Xiyun never thought Gu Sheng would talk about relationships and shook his head, “I have never thought about getting into a relationship.”
Although Bo Xiyun was only a high school student and rarely received confessions.
But he had also never considered how accepting someone into his life might directly affect himself.
This was totally out of his area of control.
Sitting opposite of him, Yi Zhongshen paused and quietly tightened his long fingers on the teacup.
In contrast, Gu Sheng smiled and said, “Actually, you could find someone whose habits are similar to yours?”
“Like…”
Gu Sheng wanted to say Yi Zhongshen as both he and Bo Xiyun were self-disciplined individuals.
But thinking about Yi Zhongshen’s reaction to the rumors yesterday, Gu Sheng paused and just managed to swallow Yi Zhongshen’s name and not say it out loud.
Unfortunately he had already started the sentence and he couldn’t just pause abruptly Gu Sheng could only add on nonsense, “Like me.”
“…”
There was a distinct silence around the table.
Feeling Bo Xiyun’s surprised gaze on himself, Gu Sheng could only laugh awkwardly, “Ha ha.”
He tried to cover himself by drinking water and was about to change the topic when he heard Yi Zhongshen speak.
“If it’s the same,” The young man’s voice was tranquil and he was expressionless.
“6am tomorrow morning, start with 10km.”
“Cough, cough cough…!!”
Gu Sheng felt this mouthful of water could be the cause of his death.
“No—cough—there’s no need—cough, cough…I will buy my ticket today and leave!”
Bo Xiyun looked at him worriedly and passed over a few pieces of tissue paper and he heard Yi Zhongshen’s voice.
“No need to listen to him.”
Yi Zhongshen looked down and sipped his tea.
“Not leaving today.”
The steam from the newly poured tea softened his sharp features. Yi Zhongshen continued, “I will be working out at the same time if you wish to continue your morning exercise tomorrow.”
Gu Sheng finally managed to control his coughs and after hearing Yi Zhongshen, he felt a little puzzled.
Both are morning workouts, but why did he feel the 10km that Yi Zhongshen told him sounded like a death call.
The one to Bo Xiyun didn’t have any hint of fierceness at all.
And it even gave others the impression that he was reporting his schedule.
That he wanted to join in with Bo Xiyun’s plans.
Yi Zhongshen was still looking at Bo Xiyun, his gaze resting on the ends of the youngster’s damp hair that were slightly covering the tips of his ears.
“The redness has not subsided?”
Bo Xiyun touched his ears. He knew that his skin was delicate and would turn red easily with exercise.
“It should get better soon.”
He sighed silently, he was too weak and couldn’t be like Yi Zhongshen.
They had worked out together in the morning and Yi Zhongshen easily completed a 5km run.
Bo Xiyun was deep in his own thoughts and did not notice the gaze that rested on him.
His soft ear tips were just rubbed by his fingers and redness spreaded outwards, making them more obvious.
They were redder now.
“Let’s exercise together tomorrow.”
Bo Xiyun heard Yi Zhongshen’s suggestion.
“I will teach you how to control your breathing.”
